To Take Down 2 Ash Trees With Ash DieBack
Ruthin
On a sunny day in Ruthin in Denbighshire we were tasked with taking down two Ash trees that were sadly diseased with Ash dieback.
Ash Dieback disease is a fungus that attacks young and old ash trees. It blocks the water transport systems in them causing leaf loss and crown dieback in affected trees. It usually leads to the death of the tree.
If you have an ash tree and you think it might have Ash dieback it's important to get a diagnosis as early as possible
Identification of symptoms can be done by examining the tree and it's leaves and photographing them so an expert can confirm it.
Take photographs of the leaves and any other affected areas, DO NOT CLIMB the tree, it may not be safe.
Because the disease drys out the branches, they can become very brittle and too dangerous to climb. It can also be a danger to the public if branches fall. At the later stages it can even be too dangerous for a tree surgeon to climb and they have to use a crane or other methods to take the tree down depending on its location.
